Frequently asked questions
How Do I Prepare For My Session?
Preparation for a boudoir session looks a bit different for everyone, however we have a few things that we request all of our clients do prior to their shoot such as staying hydrated, doing some light stretching, and eating a light meal or snack an hour or so beforehand. Boudoir can be a bit of a workout so doing these things will help to prepare you to strike those poses and not be too sore during or after your shoot.
I dont Have Any Lingerie. What do i do?
Currently we do not have a lingerie closet for our clients to borrow from, but this is a work in progress and something we hope we can add to our boudoir experiences in the future. In the meantime, we do require clients to provide their own outfits and/or lingerie. Some shops we highly recommend:
Honey Birdette - This shop is full of bold, luxurious statement pieces. Although they are bit on the pricier side, they make some truly beautiful, high-quality pieces.
Savage X Fenty - This shop has a little something for everyone. We love their all-inclusive sizing and their prices honestly can’t be beat (especially if you sign up for their Xtra VIP membership!). Plus they even have menswear!
Thistle & Spire - Another shop that we love for their inclusive sizing, and they make some seriously badass bodysuits! Their prices are very reasonable for the level of quality you get in these pieces.
Fleur du Mal - This shop has a great mix of adorable, delicate pieces as well as bold, luxurious ones. Similar to Honey Birdette, they are also at a higher price point, but well worth the money you spend.
Playful Promises - This shop has an incredibly fun range of pieces! Floral, lacy, strappy, and even some retro pieces that are so unique and playful. The pricing varies depending on the brand, however much of what they sell is incredibly reasonable in price for the luxe quality, and their sizing includes over 80 bra sizes (and stocking over 90), as well as US dress sizes 4-24 which is awesome!
Hidden Intimates - This one is straight out of a dream. Pricing for every budget, sizes up to 6X, and stunningly feminine, romantic pieces? Yes please!
Places like Amazon, Victoria’s Secret, and Aerie are also great options as long as you keep in mind to double check sizing guides and reviews.
Will I need To Do My Own Hair & Makeup?
In short; Yes, making sure hair and makeup is done before your session is client responsibility at this time, although having a HMUA in house is another thing we hope to be able to offer in the future. If you prefer to do it yourself that is perfectly fine, however we strongly recommend that you set an appointment to have it done professionally. Not only are professional HMUAs great at making you look your best on camera, they can also assist you in selecting a look that will highlight all your best features. We also love the opportunity it gives our clients to relax and pamper themselves as well.
When Should I Book My Session?
We usually book about 2-4 weeks out, however if you have a specific date in mind reaching out to us sooner never hurts to ensure we can lock down your date! Booking with us further in advance also ensures you have time to schedule beauty appointments as needed, curate outfits for the shoot, and also allows us to offer more flexible payment plans. Keep in mind, if you would like your products by a specific date it takes 4-6 weeks after the shoot for us to edit your images. After editing is completed, a reveal appointment will be scheduled and you can finalize your product selections at that time. Product delivery is then dependent on the items ordered, however we quote around 2-6 weeks to account for any shipping delays that may occur.
How Much Does A Session Cost?
Our fees range from $600-$1200 for sessions with digital images. See our Investment page for more details.
When Do I Get To See My Images?
Following your shoot it typically takes us about 2 weeks to edit and deliver your gallery, but can take up to 4 weeks to complete the editing and gallery selection process. After this has been done, we will send you an email with a link to your private gallery where you can view and download your images, and also order physical products such as albums, prints, and more if desired.
Do I Have To Share My Images?
This is 100% up to you! In our pre-shoot questionnaire we ask all of our clients if they would be comfortable having their images shared either on our social media pages or our website portfolio. Although we believe that boudoir is a great opportunity to celebrate yourself and share your confidence with the world, we completely understand if these images are something you prefer to keep private. We do ask that if you choose to share your images on your own that you do not filter them and make sure to tag us so we can join in on hyping you up!
Where Is Your Studio?
Our primary studio is located in the heart of Downtown Olympia above the historic Capital Theater. Although we prefer to shoot at this location, we are also willing to travel if you have something more specific in mind for your shoot.
Can you Help With Posing?
Of course! Assisting our clients with posing is one of the biggest parts of our job. We make sure that every pose you strike flatters your shape and accentuates your favorite features.
Do I Need To Pay A Retainer To Book?
Yes. We do require a 50% non-refundable retainer be paid in order to book your shoot. This will be used to reserve your studio time and will be applied towards your final session cost.
